Jillian + Andrew // A San Juan Capistrano Wedding Editorial

ginseng buyers in michigan She is one of the most driven, compassionate and magnetic people I know. She puts 110% of herself into everything she does and I’m not just talking about time and energy…no, it’s much more than that. Jillian puts her heart and soul into the people, projects and tasks in front of her fully and completely because it’s part of who she is & because she whole-heartedly believes nothing less will do. And it’s no wonder she graduated from Georgetown and landed a job straight away. It’s no wonder she makes the perfect nurse. It’s no wonder that she caught the attention of one Andrew Martin as she navigated her way through nursing school pre-reqs and that he found himself taken aback by the woman that she is. And it goes without saying that Andrew is quite the perfect man for her and nothing short of awesome in his own right. I’ve heard tales of the ways in which he loves and cares for Jillian in a way that makes her heart melt. I can see that he is a man who loves from a place of honesty, strength and behind-the-sences-ness, and it’s just in the way she needs to be loved. Together they are better and stronger and more alive. And I just love it!!!

I had the honor of photographing Jillian + Andrew’s wedding at Franciscan Gardens in San Juan Capistrano, and let me tell you, it was gorgeous! And it was such a pleasure to get to spend the day with the bride & groom and their amazing friends and family. My good friend and amazing photographer Montana Dennis came along to shoot with me as Isaac was otherwise engaged doing a show, and it was a special treat because we’d not shoot together for well over a year. My sweet friend Jodi Tanaka came along as well and was incredibly helpful as we navigated our way through the tight schedule. What. A. Team!

Without any further ado, I give you Jillian + Andrew’s Wedding Editorial…you can view even more selections and a slideshow from their day on their website HERE

We started the day off in the bridal suite as Jillian and the girls were buzzing around getting all dolled up for the big day. I just about died when I saw Jillian’s gorgeous, unique and deliciously modern & chic Watters gown. #wellplayed

Jillian was calm and collected from minute one to the end despite the bit of chaos that swirled around her.

Meanwhile, Montana documented Andrew and the boys as they readied themselves for the festivities. I loved Andrew’s skinny and tie and converse look. So fun and modern.

We headed over to the San Juan Capistrano Mission for the first look and portraits of the couple. And I’m thrilled we did so because it is simply breathtaking and totally went along with their California, courtyard wedding. Aren’t these Petite Bouquet by Cheri florals stunning. I’m such a sucker for succulents, I was a happy as can be when Cheri handed the bouquet to Jillian. Andrew looking all sorts of fly…And of course, the exciting and emotional first look….one of my favorite moments of the day. And I probably sound like a broken record, but I just LOVE it when couples opt for the first look as it allows for more time for photos and helps the day flow a bit more smoothly. The long corridors at the mission created the most perfect backdrop and bounced the most beautiful light around. #winningAnd what’s a portrait session without a shot in front of the succulents? Bam.

And I just love this shot Montana got…le sigh. We were jetting back to the venue to meet up with the bridal party when Jillian asked if we could sneak over to this other part of the mission that I’d not seen. And obliged, and was so happy I did. It was epic back there. Geesh. I’m so glad we didn’t miss it….

Such a beautiful bride. And I made her twirl because twirling is fun and her dressed just begged me to. :-)

I loved the bridesmaids dresses. So chic! And different. LOVE!

Whilst  I photographed the ladies, Montana hung out with the boys and they had A LOT of fun. We could hear them laughing from behind the building. And apparently the boys have been asking Andrew about the photos since the wedding. I love it. So alas, the wait is over boys….

After we finished up with the portraits, it was time for the ceremony in the courtyard and the light was just perfect….and the ceremony was heartfelt, personal and emotional. As ceremonies should be. Party time….
